Political DecoherenceAs if a many-worlds interpretation had suddenly come to be simultaneous to the Bush Administration, America's doppelganger has risen to dominate all. Up is not the opposite of down anymore. They are competitors, striving in the same direction for validity. Whatever you think makes perect sense using antiquated methods like empirical evidence, count on the opposite being adopted as the new standard. Of course, it could all just be a ruse, an illusionist's trick. When performed on stage it's entertainment. When your government does it, it's called lying. Misdirection and omission are fav devices when constructing political decoherence. For instance. The Democrats were admonished to give the Presidents surge strategy in Iraq "a chance to work". They were even told that "the new plan envisions new diplomatic initiatives," by Grand Poohbah James Baker no less. Wait until September, they said. Gen. Petraeus will report to Congress on it's progress then, so cool it already. Not all the troops are in place yet. Jeesh. Fine. Well, the surge troops are all in-country for a whole two days now, and already the "architect" of the surge strat is saying "September is too early to make a final decision." See how that works? You couldn't possibly know the surge isn't working so soon, despite current reports. But a blind man and crystal ball can clearly see nearly 3 months into the future and know that progress reports will not tell the tale even at that time. But wait. It is working. huh? Damn! That's a neat trick! ww June 18, 2007 - 3:28pm
