I'm a process improvement or "lean" consultant working to streamline workflow in major construction projects.

In my 20s I instructed for Outward Bound and other wilderness programs. During three decades of consulting since, I have also worked as an HR manager/trainer in a pharmaceutical company, an internal lean consultant at a major medical center, and a chief administrative officer for a small investment bank specializing in lease and project financing.

When I'm not consulting I like to be outside hiking, rafting, skiing, or traveling. I still co-host the Outdoors conference on the WELL, an online community started by the Whole Earth Catalog in 1985.

I hold a PhD in Education and an EdS in Evaluation from Stanford, and BA from Prescott College in Adventure Education. Despite the degrees I most respect Mark Twain's notion that "I never let schooling interfere with my education."
