Things Around Here . . .. . . will now return to normal (whatever that is). Thank heavens this week is over for me. I was overwhelmed with work and with radio business to top it all off. Next week I have two deadlines, but that's positive because it will put me into a more 'writerly' mood, more contemplation, as it were. Sean Paul Kelley March 16, 2007 - 11:24pm

Sometimes . . .. . . technology is a blessing and sometimes it's a curse. Tonight on the radio show it was a curse. The first half of the radio show went off without a hitch, we had a caller and it was a good segment, especially the part where Ian and I got into issues about the Horn Of Africa. The second half of the show started off quite well, the discussion was very fascinating and then I got dropped and the show ended in a cacophony of competing questions, "can you guys hear me? Hey! Can y'all hear me?" We'll try it again this Thursday with Rep. Tim Ryan of Ohio and pray I don't get dropped. In the meantime the archive of tonight's show is here. Republican Hate SpeechChris had me on his show today and I threw several grenades into the airwaves. It was really, rather quite cathartic considering my recent stress level. The fact remains that hate speech and bigotry remain a staple of Republican party politics. If the media reported on the bigotry inherent in the Republican party as much as they do the faux 'hate' coming from liberals the country would never vote Republican again. Fact. And by the tone of the infuriated listeners who called it sounds to me like I'd struck a nerve. Enjoy, the segment is slightly over 15 minutes long and well worth listening for entertainment value. Nathan HamiltonTonight it was my pleasure to have Nathan Hamilton on the show. Nathan and I had been playing phone tag and "schedule me if you can" for the last year, what with my erratic hosting of Jack's show and Nathan's touring schedule. The last few weeks haven't been particularly happy for me and I was dreading going into the studio, having to be happy for everyone and entertain, so when my producer said Nathan had confirmed I figured at least one hour would be fun. And it was. This was one of the most enjoyable interviews I've ever done. For some reason I just instinctively identify with Nathan's music and consider myself lucky to have seen Nathan play live. I hope you find in this podcast what I have. Nota bene: I'm tired and it's been a long day. I'll post the remainder of podcasts tomorrow. Sean Paul Kelley March 1, 2007 - 12:26am
