The Foul Smell of BigotrySoft bigots link to hard bigots and say supportive things. This is a soft bigot in action. Note the clever lying by omission and the attack on political correctness as a way of propping up nakedly bigotted statements from "The American Spectator". Bigotry like this is often find in close proximity to high art, because unartistic talentless bigots often feel better when associating with cultural production and the air of refinement it brings. The reality is that as blind auditions for orchestral slots have become standard practice - the number of women and minority musicians has gone up. There are some notable cases of discrimination by dance companies as well. And the comparison to Nazi laws is fatuous and arrogant - the Nazis discriminated against minorities, not against majorities. The word "quotas" is spread through out, showing a deep and abiding assumption of white superiority. Having heard the musicians the rest of the world is producing, there's nor correlation between the things we label as races and musical ability. In fact, there is some evidence that people whose native languages have tonal components have better pitch than nontonal languages like English. This again, is something that the bigot doesn't mention. Bigots like to be outraged about reverse discrimination in theory, while covering up and lying about real discrimination in practice. I urge people that have Overgrown Path blogrolled to ask themselves why they are sending traffic to a bigot and thus tacitly approving of the bigotry that is purveyed there.
