Obama was never more than a middle-of-the-road conformist as a Senator, as you'd expect from someone with career in mind. Ron Paul has consistently been on the far-right fringe for years - he's no answer to what ails US politics.

No Surprise that the product of the Chicago Machine reflects this as well.
Still, of all the candidates I'm seeing so far who've thrown their hats into the ring, I see nobody I think would do better as President. If I do (ever find one), they'd get my vote, though--I've been underwhelmed by Obama for a while...

that Obama is the rightmost Democrat since Woodrow Wilson, since, as is obvious, Obama is to the right of FDR.

The democrat president who got universal healthcare for the first time in 100 years since the effort began, has ended the war in Iraq, is ending the war in Afghanistan, has nationalized student lending, bailed out the US auto industry through a temporary government ownership, crafted the Dodd-Frank regulations and consumer protection rights, overseen a stimulus recovery rather than an austerity recovery plan, is the most conservative Evaahhh.

This is why that Newsweek Article was written: Why are Obama's critics so Dumb.

I guess I will never know.
