will take an incredible rain event (hurricane) to get us back to where we need to be.

It's gonna take a few events like that

Any single episode of rain that's heavy enough to replenish the shortfall will mostly run off anyway. We have to get soaked for a long time, repeatedly.

At the moment, I'm just glad that the trees in my neighborhood are getting a second chance.
