Deregulate Everything!

Deregulate financial services? You get a market crash and the worst recession since the Great Depression.

Deregulate environmental laws? You get an apocalyptic oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Deregulate mine safety? A shitload of coal miners die.

Deregulate food safety requirements? People get poisoned.

Deregulate the internet?

Do you see a fucking pattern here people?

If the Federal Government is not providing regulation that protects consumers from the unrestrained impulse towards profit and growth that in inherent to the Corporate device, then why do we actually need a Federal Government?

For Defense? Not if they keep going to war to protect the profits of corporations at the cost of the taxpayer and the lives of civilians and servicemen alike.

Sure there are any number of areas where Federal involvement in services are essential. But is it the best way?

I am slowly but surely swaying towards the Less Government side of the argument. Not in a hard core Libertarian way, just in efficiency, and accountability.

Large Federal Government that continues to expand it's powers is too ripe a plum for Lobbyists of Corporate interests to ignore.

that Republicans spend larger than Democrats and reduce Government revenue for two main reasons.

1) To feed money in the form of interest on US debt to their cronies.

2) as an excuse to cut social programs.

They have been wildly successful.
