Darrell Issa: Douchebag Carrying Goldman's Water

The Republicans are twisting themselves up into all kind of unimaginable knots trying to derail financial reform. Exhibit #2 (after the Luntz memo) is here. If I can add something here, it's this kind of attack, being broadcast all over Drudge that will follow soon on Fox and CNN, etc . . . because it has the kind of faux-savvy political theatrics (and is totally without substance) that the media loves, which makes it very hard for an already overly cautious President Obama to smash down reform with the big hammer. I'd do it much differently, but I'm not president.

On the other hand, here's some bad news for Goldman, potentially very, very bad news. Here and here.

comes in, in coordination with TARP. Civil cases involving taxpayers would be criminal.

Britain and Germany are winding up Probes:

London's Financial Services Authority and Germany's BaFin regulatory agency said they were coordinating with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's investigation of Goldman's sale of an investment that, the SEC charges, was structured to fail.

Imagine Goldman with a Liberal-Dem Government?

Oh and both Britain and Germany are pulling all future deals with Goldman. They are gearing up to pass legislation that bars government activity with Goldman.

...to do some symbolic jail time, but I doubt even that will happen.
What this country, this people, fail to understand is the profound damage being done to this country because of an across the board failure of our system of justice.
The failure to hold accountable people like Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Rove, to name a few, and now one can add the Wallstreet cabal to that.
The moral/ethical and legal failures are so profoundly deep as to destroy the very fabric of American society. I cannot find the words to adequately express my contempt and disappointment for the country I used to call home.
In my heart of hearts, I think it's too late; the opportunity has passed.

Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them, and these will continue till they are resisted with either words or blows,or with both~FDouglas
