The ByzantinesAll the writer had to do was check wikipedia, or just google it to get his or her facts right. Of course, that would be asking too much from the writers at Newsweak. Seriously, the errors in this "Global Greats" photo montage are pretty pathetic. The worst offender? Calling the Byzantine Empire the 'Holy Roman Empire.' See slide three. I mean, that's just awful. The Holy Roman Empire was founded when Charlemagne was crowned on Christmas Day, 800AD. His coronation seriously pissed off the Byzantines as well.
