Campaign Contributors Rewarded With Afghan Escalation

The top defense recipient during the 2008 election cycle was Barak Obama. He got $1,029,997 to John McCain's $696,948. I'm not making the argument there was an explicit quid pro quo, here, just pointing out the obvious that there is too much money in our politics. (And what an insightful and original observation that is!)

And, in light of today's escalation announcement all the defense stocks in the S&P 500 are up. I think escalation is a bad idea. I prefer Col. Lang's ideas on the subject, a man who knows something about guerrilla warfare.

But I'm not surprised at Obama. He made it clear in the campaign he was going to double down in Afghanistan.
