Here's why you, too, should be a Yankees fan:

Are Yankees fans also Barack Obama supporters? The Yankees have won eight world championships during Democratic administrations in the past 50 years but haven't won a title with a Republican in office since Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1958. Since then, the Yankees have won titles during the terms of John F. Kennedy (1961-62), Jimmy Carter (1977-78) and Bill Clinton (1996, 1998-2000).

I can't believe that I am

I can't believe that I am capable of such pettiness but you can't have a walk-off win if you don't score the winning run in the bottom of the ninth or in the bottom of an extra inning.

Definitely not. I must admit to being a Yankee fan ever since I lived a few blocks away from the Stadium and used to walk there for an occasional afternoon game and a beer.

Yes. God's team? Maybe in the way that the Cathars saw the Catholic Church as representing God.

But it wasn't a walk-off win. They didn't even play the bottom of the ninth.
