Torture's Apologists

Here we are, many years later, still arguing whether torture is a necessary evil or wrong in every case. I don't think it's any surprise where I come down on this. It's wrong, intolerable and should be prosecuted. Alas, the New York Times--and the Washington Post before it--are still writing about torture in a he said/she said way, with dueling anonymous quotes that offer only justifications. What's even more odious is the simple fact that torture still being labeled as 'harsh interrogation techniques.' The only time any publication comes close is when they cite the Geneva Convention of torture.

It's shameful.

Fortunately Glenn Greenwald's post is a welcome tonic to the debate.
