The Tiger Breeze

Barring a major catastrophe between India and Pakistan my passage aboard the Tiger Breeze (once named the City Of London) is now confirmed.

I will leave Port Klang, Malaysia on or about the 22nd of January, arriving in Chennai, India approximately eight days later. There is a two day stop in the Andaman Islands.

Port Klang has largely replaced Butterworth, the large container facility adjacent Georgetown and Penang. It's 40 miles south east of Kuala Lumpur on the mainland of Peninsular Malaysia.

What will a container facility look like? What will it be like boarding? What will it be like on a container ship? I'm not sure what to expect. Although it is more than a month off the anticipation is rather delicious. It'll certainly be a new experience. And I like those!

That is a really good picture of the container ship. I wish you would take us readers with you and let us see the crew, the sleeping conditions, I have never been on a boat like that and I am very curious. What does the kitchen look like. ?? Bon voyage.

I don't see windows, I think that would drive me batty.

On these ships...

The Tiger Breeze:

“The ship turned out to be great, nice bedroom with private bathroom, TV, video player, kettle, fridge, like a floating hotel. The Stewardess cleaned it everyday as well. All our meals were with the Captain and Officers but was pretty laid back on eating times. There was a pool and we had a big BBQ on Friday night with free alcohol. There was plenty to do on the ship, videos, dvd`s, Nintendo, swimming and a well stocked bar. We also had complete freedom on the ship to go anywhere, even the bridge, anytime.”

I did see another picture of the accommodations of a container ship--(it had two windows, small, but larger than portholes) Not particularly luxurious or large, but neat and very similar to crew accommodation--don't know if that was officer accommodation or whether all the crew had similar rooms.

Google and you should find pictures of accommodations on board container ships.
