Treasury Acquires Some Common Sense?

It's nice to see the Treasury Department isn't buying into GM's please for help. They dug themselves into this mess and they need to dog themselves out. If that means bankruptcy and then selling off the competitive parts of the business then so be it. Same goes for Ford and Chrysler. Especially Chrysler, as it is owned by a private equity firm that it probably dying to suck at the federal teat.

Obviously they are not a bank, and were not Goldman Sachs clients. Probably did business with Lehman Bros.

Obviously they are not a bank,

Someone should have told GM this some time ago. They thought they were more of a finance company than a vehicle producer when they switched to a business model the made monthly payments to GMAC the new mortgage, in the attempt to take the rent business away from the banks who had once owned it. Once they got in the rent business, they forgot that they were actually in the business of production.
