Birds

Little Bee-eater (Merops pusillus)Saw a pair of bee-eaters this morning, but I wasn't able to identify them as they were too far off.

But they were bee-eaters, with the distinctive body shape and flight patter that I saw so often in Ethiopia.

I'm off to the local Borders to get a bird book for Singapore. I really, really need one.

They were just casually flittering through the trees below my window, bouncing to and fro on the branches.

I imagine they eat bees, hence the name, but I haven't seen any bees yet.

But with all the flowers, well, there are bound to be plenty.
