At The Risk of Really . . .

. . . stepping in it, I am going to have to disagree with Greg Sargent here and agree with the first commenter in the thread who says this:

making fun of a public figure is a lot more "in bounds" than calling the Rutgers team a bunch of "nappy headed hos".

As much as I detest Rush -- this seems merely like edgy political humor to me, and I'm sure we've seen similar from the left making fun of, say, southern white preachers and the like.

It's free speech. It's protected and it's a far cry from yelling 'fire' in a crowded theater. When he starts calling for politicians to be shot, or goes to great lengths to dehumanize racial groups, well, then we have a problem. But this? This is just really bad humor.

Rush is just taking a cue from Coulter to justify his paychecks. It may be free speech, but they don't have to get paid to prove it. Too bad Coulter wasn't asked how petitioning the government transforms a public citizen into a public figure worthy of ridicule.

These people bring substance to... well, nothing.

As for Sargent's post, looks like Rush is having an Ace of Spades moment with blacks instead of vaginas.

fix it from last week. Oy!

"There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all argument, and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance. This principle is, contempt prior to examination."

What's the demographic of Rush's show again?

Anyway - it's not up to white liberals to render judgement here. Make it famous - put it in front of the black community without editorializing and let them judge it as silently or as loudly as they want to. Surprisingly, they can actually speak for themselves.

don't like it and they create a dynamic that hurts Rush's bottom line then good.

Seriously. Is what he is doing all about the presentation of ideas, or is he merely shouting a racist "Fire" in our political theater?

And with that said, would the bottom line would then be considered the political theater court of law?

Politics is the control of wealth and power. You are being conditioned to condemn politics as petty and boring, thus granting all the more control to the powers that be. You are either a part of the problem or a part of the solution. The choice is yours.

I’m a Natzi!

He said it, “I am a cyst on the ass of humanity,” and that’s about the only time I’ve been in agreement with him!
