If You Really Want . . .

. . . to go to Iraq, why the heck don't you just enlist?

Nota bene: Funny, as a footnote they write: "Attention Lefty Morons: Jeff actually did enlist and fight in Iraq." My reply: well, since so many soldiers are doing two and three tours, why not enlist again?

Escher Sketch March 28, 2007 - 12:02pm

Jeff Emanuel enlisting and going to Iraq? Why hasn't anyone ever thought of this before?

Leon H Wolf March 28, 2007 - 12:02pm

Jeff doesn't reenlist or does he feel he is doing the most for his country by blogging? {all snark included} Oh wait he was involved in the rescue of Jessica Lynch, we all know what a journalistic snow job that was.

Kristol and Kinsley can be included? For the amount of money Red State say they are raising, that should be enough to send all four.

reading the kos diary and they pointed out:

In Iraq, No Room at The Inn for Auditors
By Paul Kiel - March 12, 2007, 4:04 PM
.
How strained are resources in Iraq? So strained that the State Department can't afford for three auditors to make a three month visit.
.
The State Department recently turned down a request for three congressional auditors to make a three-month stay in Baghdad, saying that having them around for that long would be "a serious challenge to mission resources."
....
Those resources aren't so strained when it comes to pro-government propaganda, I guess.
.
.
.
I have a couple of questions.
.
First, why is the Pentagon inviting RedState to blog in Iraq? They are an openly partisan outfit and not a news source, to boot. Their coverage will obviously be biased in favor of the Administration's view.
.
Second, why is the military promising an escort? Again, this is an openly partisan outfit. Why are Americans paying tax dollars (that's right, the time and energy spent on pushing these morons around Iraq) for more propaganda?
.
Could not the manpower used to get some pretty stories published on a small time blog (RedState has 30x less the audience of DailyKos) be used to, I don't know, secure Iraq so we can get the hell out of there?

which has badly afflicted John McCain and which a Pentegon invite you gives a high probability of catching on your "guided" tour.

Today's 'Informed Comment' (funny and worth reading) describes it as:
'a combination of bad temper, misuse of language to obfuscate reality, and a Panglossian optimism in the face of stubborn, sanguinary facts on the ground.'
