Senate Says Yes . . .


. . . to subpoenas. Constitutional collision only a matter of time. What do you think will be the end result of it? Will Congress come out on top? Or the Unitary Executive?

To my mind Leahy has it exactly right. "We're told we can get nothing, nothing, nothing," he said after Arlen Specter pleaded, "we should take what we've got already and then if we don't like it, subpoena the Administration."

The Bush Administration has proven that they will give absolutely nothing unless there is a dire threat of consequences and even then they've managed to brazen it out a few times. I'm glad to see the Senate and the House aren't appeasing this Administration any longer. 'Bout time.
