Will Malkin Go To Iraq? Why would Eason Jordan invite Michelle Malkin to Iraq? Seriously, wasn't she one of the chief goons on the "Get Eason Jordan fired from CNN" goon squad? I'm all for reaching out to political opponents when the time is right and they act in good faith. But Michelle Malkin? Pardon me, but I don't see her as a good-faith actor. Isn't that just a massive red-flag from the get-go that she'll find some way to sabotage him at some point after the venture? Really, just look at the tone of her post, already chock full of demands and already hyper-critical of anything Jordan does. Were I Jordan, well, I'm not so forget it. It seems to be the consensus that in the end she'll not go, but I'd go; especially if Jordan offered a security detail; then again, I'm half crazy as we already have learned. This brings up another question: why have no progressive, netroots bloggers not been invited to blog from Iraq? This, to me, seems wrong. Why haven't we been invited? And if we have, why haven't we gone? Moreover, is it because liberals are unwilling to go? (I don’t think so.) Or that we’re simply discriminated against? But it seems to me critical that at least one progressive/liberal blogger go on this trip, especially with Eason Jordan, if for nothing else than to keep Malkin and her crew honest about what really happens while they are there. Update: Gilliard has thoughts you should read. Update 2: Greg Sargent has more. I wish I'd read his post first, as he asks many of the same questions I'm asking of Jordan. It's worth a read for all the background and dishonesty of the attacks against Jordan. It's pretty breathtaking. Sean-Paul Kelley December 14, 2006 - 3:45pm
