Iran's Involvement In Iraq: 'Not Decisive,' says US General

The senior intelligence officer at CENTCOM, Brig Gen. John Custer (yeah, I know, not the most auspicious surname in the world) had some very interesting things to say about those dastardly, evil, vile Iranians and their involvement in Iraq the other day. Here's what Gen. Custer says of Iran's involvement in Iraq:

If I could snap my fingers and move Iran out of the picture it wouldn't change -- it wouldn't end the conflict. It wouldn't drastically change the conflict. It's not decisive. (My emphasis)

Woulnd't end the conflict? It wouldn't drastically change the conflict? It's not decisive? Has Michael Ledeen heard this yet? He's sure to be devastated. So what will the 'intellectuals' fearing an emerging 'Shi'a crescent' in Iraq do?

I've always doubted Iran's influence in Iraq is as serious as the neocons, Frummy and Perle included, made it out to be. Looks like Gen. Custer just confirmed that. Still, Cheney and his goons in the OVP really want to take a shot at Iran.

Bad.
