Ask and ye shall receive: James McMurtry podcast live at the Ike.
There is some great music here, hope you enjoy it.
... I totally missed something special. Thanks for re-broadcasting. I love acoustic work and live acoustic is the best. Listening to recorded live shows doesn't have that same impact as being "there". Make sense? How mainstream radio can continue to pump out the same regurgitated beats and not the real work of talented musicians and artists blows my mind.
SPK, your next task, should you choose to accept it: Get McMurtry and Forsyth in that booth together.
How about Rodney Crowell, Jimmy LaFave, Dave Alvin,Roy Rogers , David Lindley, and the ghost of Jimmy Hendrix!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh hell, just start a pod-cast radio station and interview all the smart people with all those dynamite Americna Musicians.

Paul Thorn's Web Site. Check Out His Art Also If you ever get a chance to see Paul live, do the distance and go. I am very fortunate to be able to see both Paul Thorn and James McMurtry at the same show in just a few days.

It really was. I listened to it twice. I bought two of his CDs just from listening to a couple of songs on his website, one song being 'We Can't Make It Here.'
It's like listening to Eliza Gilkyson, Nanci Griffith or someone like James Hand. You just know that anything they produce will capture your heart.
