Kissinger Says Victory Not Possible?

Henry Kissinger has said that victory in Iraq in not possible. He also said that Iraq was in a full blown civil war. As Steve Clemons notes, "Kissinger has dropped the semantic idiocy of debating whether a civil war is underway in Iraq. He finally acknowledges that it is."

Kissinger is one of the last holdouts. He's been advising bubble boy to stay the course for a while now, too. Will the 'Decider' change his tune too?

The conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan are immune from political changes in Washington and a 30-year war on terror looms, according to a security report.
The US dilemma is clear, the report states. If it withdraws from Iraq, jihadist groups will be able to operate without restraint in the heart of the world's most important oil-bearing region. If it stays, though, then US soldiers become an increasing magnet for radical factions, with Iraq becoming a training ground for new generations of paramilitaries, just as Afghanistan was in the 1980s against the Soviet occupying forces.

Comment:
If they can't withdraw, they hardly can impeach Bush.

And the democrats have a problem. They just won an election and the electorate assumes that they stop the war. Well, they have to at least pretend that they try to do something and blame Bush for obstructing them.

Nice to see the noose of reality tightening around the Boy Blunder's neck.

Worst. President. Ever.
