Sticks and Carrots AgainI'm paraphrasing here a friend here, but remember this post, the one where the House passed a crucial Iran regime change bill, a kind of Iranian-Chalabi bill without any debate, last night? Well, apparently this is a.) Santorum's bill, b.) it will disrupt urgent and very sensitive nuclear talks with Iran, c.) dissidents in Iran will quite likely die because of it and d.) it takes only one US senator to stop this bill right now. AND NOT ONE HAS STOOD UP TO DO SO. Nothing is likely to happen, as well, because there is a sex scandal on Capitol Hill right now and we all know how sex is so much more important than war with Iran, right?
