Hadji GirlSome have argued that the song Hadji Girl is really no big deal, just the typical brutality of war making itself heard. Some of you wondered why I had the reaction I did. Well, read this and then tell me it doesn't matter. And in case you don't know who the writer is, just know he's one of those many millions of people whose hearts and minds we are trying to win over. We had his, but we might have lost it. And that breaks my heart. I've many a Turkish friend and I must tell you I've never met a more loyal, friendly and kind people in all of my travels--and I have met a lot of all those types in a lot of different places. You know what, make all the excuses you want. But remember this: one must really screw up to lose the friendship of a Turk. That's why it matters. Sean Paul Kelley July 6, 2006 - 8:59pm
