$75 A Barrel?

$75 a barrel? That's got to hurt. I am so glad we drive fuel efficient cars in this family. As a matter of fact, last week I filled up my tank for the first time in a month and was very surprised by the cost. The guy across the pump in the H2 was less than pleased with his $85 fill up. I can only imagine what it will be like in two weeks when I fill up again. But for him? Well, I don't pity the guy at all. He did buy an $80,000 gas guzzler, you know?

You are getting off cheap. We pay 105.9 to 109.9 per liter in my area. Multiply it by 3.55 and you get our price. And we supply you with some of our oil!
This is why we carry K-Y jelly in our vehicles every time we fill up with gas.
The corporations are reaping major profits and we are bearly making ends meet. Keep us subserviant and dependant on their services and we will keep being poor.
One step forward and two steps back.
Bush is happy because his friends are getting richer. That will help him when he goes back into public life.
I wonder if Haliburton will hire him? They should because he gave them more money than they ever expected. (Or was it expected?)

and is driving a car that gets much better mileage. My car always was very good on fuel economy...gets 40-45 mpg highway. Hubby just bought a 1994 BMW 4 cylinder convertible that has a gauge that tells him how much he gets. It currently reads more than 35 mpg on the highway...not as good as mine, but much better than his SUV that at best was less than 30 mpg.

We haven't sold the SUV because we need it to tow our boat. But that's the only time we'll use it.

Our house is insulated to the max and I'm looking into passive solar to reduce utility costs further, especially central furnace gas heating bills.

If you look at the multipliers in the equation and have followed the exchange rates: EURUSD has gone slightly up -> more oil purchase power.

on a US gallon of gas? Feds only or do States stick in a tax straw, too? Here, in Canada, for Lord knows what possible justifiable reason, our pump price just skyrocketed this week, too. But it's not just the juice price that's soaring up, it's the one/third or so that's skimmed by Provincial and Federal governments - and that's a percentage, not a flat rate!

The Rapture is not an acceptable exit strategy

It's the way of the future. It's the way George Washington Carver and Henry Ford imagined diesels running. During their era, it was inefficient to run vegetable oils vs. petrol. And now? Well, the good ol' boys in petrol and autmobile industry have the majority of rights and patents on bio-diesel.... save a select few ingenious inventors....

I'm ready to watch what happens in the next few years....
