Tom DeLay Out Of the Race


Someone just emailed me that on Scarborough it was said Tom DeLay had dropped out of the race. Is this true? Are we that lucky a nation? Can it really be? Or is it April Fool's a day or two too late?

Atrios reports the same.

Just heard it form someone else. Tom DeLay is out.

Next question, as I understand it, a Democrat will win that district because DeLay won the primary.

And is he going to plead out?

Time confirms it.

Scarborough Just Repeated Claim

Read the Atrios report and flipped over to MSNBC - Scarborough repeated that Matthews had appeared and said that DeLay had called him, Delay is out of the race.

Scarborough is reporting

that DeLay believes any Republican can win his district, just not DeLay. DeLay's poll numbers have gone down persistently since November. Republicans are concerned that Dem's will retake the House, and so they will have to fight for every seat, including DeLay's.
