The Bug Man Gets Exterminated!

Tom DeLay has now officially proven that he is a weak, bullying coward who cannot accept responsibility for his own actions.

He's a coward who held one of the highest offices in the land, held more power than almost any other Americans and he cannot face Ronnie Earle, a simple city DA in Austin.

What a weak, cowardly cut-and-run resigning Republican.

Good riddance.

Perry to call special election? Sugarland mayor David Wallace the favorite?

Very special kudos go out to David Donnelly who blogged at The Daily DeLay, a guy The New York Times called "most famously zealous Ahab in pursuit of Mr. DeLay's resignation." Here's to white wales David!

And our very own Chris Bell, running for governor of the great state of Texas, for filing the ethics complaint against DeLay that got the ball rolling.

Josh reinforces my earlier suggestion that DeLay is planning a plea, and here's a blast from the past, my review of the Book of Tom. Major kudos to Jan Reid and Lou DuBose for telling the whole, ugly, nasty story.

He is leaving, great!
It just brings up another question.
Who is going to replace him?
If the Democrats are running around like chickens with their heads cut off the Republicans might pull off another victory.
Unless God interferes.
Sad day for Texas.

P.S. Nick Lampson's got a purty site. Nick's been to Chicago a couple of times and is pretty quick on his feet. Restores my faith in Texas (well, at least some).

The real Texas race is now between Courage and Smith. That's where the action is. Tom's shadow vs. A Real Democrat.
