E-Voting In Webb CountyJust in from the local news E-voting in Webb county has caused Henry Cuellar's numbers (his precincts down along the border) to come in late. Any surprise? He won by 56 votes last time. Ciro just said, "we have already sent attorneys down to Webb and Zapata counties and the ballots have been impounded." He looks very confident and Henry looked shaken. The tone in the local media is pro-Henry. Good news in State Senate 19, Madla was just crying. He's very concerned about loosing the race. And Uresti has run a damn good race. In my opnion the race really turned for Uresti when we had him on the radio and played the Madla-Democrats-in-my-trunk clip over and over and over again. More as I get it. Chris Bell demolished Bob Gammage. BOR take that! Update: Basically what is going on in Webb county is that they're delaying reporting to figure out how many votes they need. And WOAI-TV just showed Madla crying. You know what, that's what you get for the CHIP vote. Turncoat. Matt Glazer has the details. Like a hawk too. Go read him now, he's been on the ground for this race the whole time. Update 2: I just got a hysterical email from a friend: "Uiresti judt talked to me. He dsaid thanks to the blogs. Sorry I'n on blackberry and druinjk" I don't think I need to translate, eh? Update 3: MyDD has a comprehensive round-up on the Ciro-Henry grudge match. The E-voting issues are really, really bad folks. There's like a total embargo on information here. It's really screwey. We're probably looking at the first stolen election of 2006, as someone noted at MyDD. The shenanigans are so obvious and so over the top. I am just glad Ciro's got his legal act together this time. State Senate District 19 is more than likely going to break Uresti's way, and a big part of that victory was first the Madla clip that made it to the blogs. The momentum shifted significantly when we had Carlos on the show and re-ran and re-ran the clip over and over. That week the local media picked up on the clip and the CHIP issues. (A kids health insurance vote that Madla hosed his supporters on.) So, The Agonist and local blogs are getting some good kudos for helping out the local campaigns. Good stuff. It looks like we've knocked off one DINO tonight, but we probably won't know about Ciro and Henry til tomorrow, if even then. Sean Paul Kelley March 7, 2006 - 11:04pm
