Romney Blows It, Picks Paul Ryan

Michael Collins

AP tells us that Wisconsin Representative Paul Ryan is the pick for the Republican Vice President slot. AP August 10

We know one thing for sure about Mitt Romney. He is not a big game player, you know those stars who always do their best in playoff or championship games. Faced with the most important choice of his sputtering campaign, Romney blew it. He chose a boring, rightist Congressman from the Milwaukee suburbs. Paul Ryan may look good to Romney but his supporters preferred another by far, Senator Marco Rubio of Florida.

Ryan compensates for his boring demeanor with a truly mean spirited political program that threatens to deny medical care for seniors if his budget is enacted. He swaps out government payments for vouchers in a system that will make medical care unaffordable to many. That should sell well among those seniors who prefer a premature, unnecessary death caused by a lack of medical care. Quite a constituency.

Nice work Mitt!

    …otherwise I can’t see how that works.

is a great pick for the party of the bat-shit-crazy-people giving 0 the win. Then 0 does the cuts to SS and Medi-Care just like he says he will and with nancy p. on record that these would be OK by her.

Main Street is doomed no matter who wins. It is like you point out one wants to kill us over night and the other by a thousand cuts.

Quite frankly, I think it qualifies them both as sociopaths. They’re not the only ones. Make it unaffordable and people will die in direct proportion.

Just look at the first year. Are they f’ing nuts? At the median income, you’re totally finished with abou6 70% of medical expenditures ending up self pay. It is no where near that now. So what do they think will happen?

It is one thing to set up a plan (i.e., Ryan’s) that makes Medicare more expensive than most seniors can afford. It’s entirely another to tout that, as Ryan did. It is beyond the pale to make that crazy plan the focus of the campaign by putting its author on the ticket as #2.

I can’t even imagine the ads. Romney will be finished before the convention. Romney needs Florida. Got a few seniors there. They’ll make sure they punch the right hole this time. Virginia will see numbers like 2008 when people came outof the woodwork to vote for Obama. Ohio, lots of hard times and people on Medicare. Adios Mitt, we hardly knew ye

Romney, Ryan, or Obama will simply continue the Money Party’s agenda.

All the campaign rhetoric is just color to keep “believers” occupied and fooled, like the Dem “hope and change” was and like the GOP “real conservatism” is … neither actual administration plans on any of that, they just continue the same plan that you have already seen.

…supporting the society because we’re unemployed (retired in my case) and therefore we became expendable, an unusable surplus, expensive baggage, or at best, serfs.
Either way; it doesn’t bode well for the majority.

They called him a “fitness fanatic.” I think he’s just a fanatic with aspirations to mega wealth.

Wait until we find out he forces staff to read Atlas Shrugged. Ayn Rand was an atheist who had as a lover (the ideal man) a guy who became a serious serial killer. Nice work Paul;)
