I could have Choice #1 not in color, but with a plain blue screen, getting rid of that dorky block patterning in the current logo which dilutes the image, and reducing the size of the text a tad.
The color is not a good idea, it makes people start looking at the picture as a picture, and not as a more iconic logo.
Your other examples with a blue screen either are missing “global, thoughtful, timely”, which MHO, would be a tragedy (use of that particular term intended!), or have poorly placed and sized text.
(Sorry I’m picky, but putting an actual dollar value on images based on people’s emotional and intellectual reaction to them based on actual markets where people pay actual bucks for the images has been my biz for over 20 years.)

unless someone can do a mock up of Arta’s suggestion (I can’t visualize, I have to see).
I would say stick with the existing Scoop one but lessen blank space outside at the right, even if that means enlarging the logo a bit instead of just stretching it.I somewhat like the dorky murky pattern, as it blurs my attention to parts of the picture that are somewhat campy while not concealing them completly.
(It’s sad, but I can no longer remember how the image was laid out on the old FP, just the wide one on the BB’s)
Not saying to go all the way across to the vertical line, but don’t stop at the text ragged right margin, I would say.
