Summer Reading List

Here's my summer reading list so far (what I plan to read):

"The Thirty Years War" by CV Wedgewood.

"Roumeli" by Patrick Leigh Fermor.

"Dante, Poet of the Secular World" by Erich Auerbach.

"Redemption Ark" by Alistair Reynolds.

"Absolution Gap" by Alistair Reynolds.

"Conundrum" by Jan Morris.

"Labyrinths" by Jorge Luis Borges

"Before the Mayflower: A History of Black America" by Lerone Bennett.

"Yeats: The Man and the Masks" by Richard Ellman.

What's yours?

And I think it might explain why this blog is so much more perceptive than most of the other stuff out there.

In fact, it was an entry on William Gibson's blog years ago that first took me to this site, and I've been a regular reader ever since.

I'm currently in the middle of "Schismatrix Plus" by Bruce Sterling, which captures the complexity and weirdness of real history more than some real histories that I've read.

And I just bought the CV Wedgewood after being charmed by the first few pages. Can't wait to read it.
