No really, go fuck yourself, Joe. I mean it. You're not a journalist, you're not an honest man. At best you are what bloggers call a "concern troll;" at worst you are an active member of the vast reichwing neocon corporate conspiracy. A paid propagandist, agitator, deliberately trying to confuse The People by stirring up false controversies. You write for Time Magazine, thus I lean towards the latter theory.

Your latest attempt to confuse the enemy (the America people) is this hogwash about Al Gore:

You trash Hillary and Obama as if they're two peas in a pod. And yet, like other 20th century decepticons, you don't seem to realize that the debris from your previous exploits is littered all over the Internet.

Klein's latest attempt at casting a confusion spell includes a pitch for Al Gore as savior of the Democratic party. Why? Because Hillary and Obama have already destroyed each other's chances of beating John McCain, that's why. Oh, I see. So, what Democrats should do (friendly advice from the enemy) is jump ship and grab for the lifeline that is Al Gore.

You know, this kind of shit might be mildly funny if Klein didn't do it all the time. I googled "Joe Klein" and you know what I got? Try it, I dare you.

The first results page (other than a Wiki) was hit after hit on Joe Klein getting busted by one blogger after another for lying or otherwise deliberately deceiving people with his little screeds. I didn't bother looking further, because I was already pretty disgusted.

This is not the profile of an honest man. It's evidence of a horrendous, unforgivable pattern of deception. One might suppose that such a person's reputation for dishonesty would eventually make it impossible to find work. One would be missing the sinister agenda of America's reichwing corporate cabal.

Still, in a way I feel sorry for old Joe. He's stuck in a role that he can't get out of, not without giving up typing for good. He could never earn the kind of money he makes now doing anything else, and it's not like he'll make any money as a blogger, because his constant attempts at manipulation are simply irritating, like some pesky little kid who keeps trying to weasel you out of money.

Thing is, even after his "opinions" have become utterly irrelevant to savvy bloggers, Joe Klein still gets his crap printed in Time, and pushed out front on Yahoo News, along with Ann Coulter and cartoons like that. Status quo pushers like Time, Newsweek, and US News and World Report still exist in print only because people forget to bring a book to waiting rooms. But what's Yahoo's excuse? You forward Joe Klein, but no room for Kos, Amato, Hamsher, Kelley, Greenwald and Huffington?

Well, if Yahoo wants to play the MSM game, that's good to know.

Meanwhile, I'm sorry I said "fuck you, Joe Klein," but I just didn't have the energy to come up with something more clever. People like Joe Klein are scum. They do their dirty work in various ways, some on TV, others on the radio or in print, but it's all just a day's worth of propaganda product. Scum have to earn a living, too. I get it. But they're still scum.
