Dixie Chicks: Shut Up and Sing

This is the ad that NBC refused to show because, it "cannot accept these spots as they are disparaging to President Bush.’”

I imagine NBC just made sure a lot of people will go see it.

NBC is owned by GE, by the way. By pretending not to be political, they just made sure that they will be seen as political.

A lot of of companies have been doing this. Interesting bet they're making. They better hope they win it.

Todd Snider places King George the Younger in the proper light. With Corporate Censorship in full swing, he might just get away with it.

I was in shock when a drunk coke snorting frat boy looser made it to the White House in the 2000 selection process.

The GE-NBC thing is no surprise. The press is very cozy with Bush. A transcript was released of a meeting between Bush and the press. The journalists openly recommend ways to Bush to make the Iraq war appear more successful leading up to the election, and state how they support his policy. Bush dismisses facts (or doesn't know) he finds inconvenient and no one corrects him. It's very hard to compete with a party this supported by the press. Interesting read
