Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said on CNN last night that neither he, nor the Iranians, would consider an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities an act of war.
Well, in very targeted strikes, we use very targeted strikes against al Qaeda. And so if it is a very targeted strike, many would argue that that’s short of war. And if it only seeks to go after their nuclear program, that is — we’re not talking about invasions or naval engagements or troops on the ground, none of that. And this has been used by other — President Clinton used this tactic.
But there’s also other things under that. I’m not saying that’s — that is the right answer. That is an option that I believe is short of war if it is very selective, very targeted, only to the nuclear program. And we do know, those — that the Iranians believe that there is a whole panoply of options — war and then these targeted strikes they don’t see as — wouldn’t see as an act of war.
It is too much to ask that the most militarily powerful nation on earth, with the ability to nuke us all back to the Stone Age, actually get some intelligence on its Intelligence Committees?
Seriously, most Americans wonder why the rest of the world worries about America…

As an Exceptional Nation, we do not have to pay attention to bothersome laws and regulations like the little people countries do.
REPORT: Iran Is Bypassing Sanctions And Redefining International Trade With GoldBy using hundreds of couriers through Dubai each legally carrying 110 pounds of gold, registered and with tax ids, Iran is selling oil to Turkey. Iran then uses the gold to exchange for other stuff they want. It works because gold is traded everywhere and for all currencies. So Iran sells oil to Turkey for Turkish Lira then turns around and buys gold from Turkey using the Lira they just received for their oil. Gold does not make a good basis for a modern money system, but as long as it is desired by many and is easily transported it can be useful as a way around financial embargoes of dollars. Here –> http://www.businessinsider.com/how-iran-evades-oil-sanctions-with-gold-2012-10
Consider teh source…a Republican.I wonder where Congress/Republicans get the idea they can order strikes on foreign powers? They can’t even rule on the applicability of military power (only whether they would pay for it)Seriously, these bozos should be put in the vanguard of any force sent to do the ground fighting…..
I’ve always proposed that those who vote for war should be put on the front line, along with their near and dear. If they aren’t willing to put up, they should shut up.
I’d elaborate on that to say that the people should be consulted on whether or not to wage war, and that each vote “for” should also constitute enlistment in the armed forces at the cannon fodder level.
If that means handing Gramps in his wheelchair an M16 and a pair of dog tags, so be it. He’s old enough to know better, and in the case of war, we won’t have to support him in his dotage.
Personally, I think Gramps would likely grow a pair and decide that discretion was the better part of valor.
