Since reports of accidental shootings at gun shows this past Saturday filled the wires, David Waldman of Daily Kos decided to hit up teh googlez and see just how many oopsies (and not-so-oopsies) occurred on the National Day of Service Gun Appreciation Day (because it seems no matter how many times you pump irony fulla lead that motherfucker just will not die).

  • Breaking from WGNO in New Orleans: “NOPD officers are investigating a report of five people shot near Martin Luther King Jr Blvd and Lasalle Street moments after the parade honoring Martin Luther King Jr. had passed. WGNO News is at the scene and will have more information as it becomes available.” Details to come. Times-Picayune reports four shot.

    Taliban Reach Out, Hold IED Appreciation Day in Kabul

    In yet another sign that they might be ready to reach out and establish a lasting peace in Afghanistan, today the Taliban held their First Annual IED Appreciation Day in Kabul. In an exclusive announcement sent to IASIK offices, they said, “We wish to reach out to our American brothers and show them that we, too, value our weapons. We hope that on this common ground we can build a lasting peace for all of Afghanistan.”
