Audit the fed bill gutted


Damn these guys are good. At fucking us over, that is. Remember when the public rose up and rejected the TARP bail-out? Congressmen were flooded with calls, did their duty and voted against the bill. Then the propoganda machine went to work. A few meaningless concessions were made, the bill was repackaged and passed.

Not only are you going to eat shit, you're going to like eating shit. Got it?

Now it appears Ron Paul's audit the fed bill is doomed to similar fate. Congress can't ignore public outcry for tranparency so they're busy removing teeth from the bill. They'll pass some meaningless drivel that allows the powers that be to continue fucking us over and claim victory on behalf of the American public.

Ain't democracy wonderful?

Democracy is wonderful

Democracy is wonderful, of course, and I get your sarcasm too.

While Ron Paul's name is first on the bill and in that sense it's his bill, I think it really helps to remind people just how remarkable this bill is. With 308 co-sponsors there should be no problem getting the language back in the bill.

It's a truly bi-partisan bill. You many not know my representative in congress, Jan Schakowsky but you likely have heard of Dennis Kucinich. Jan and Dennis are both very progressive members of congress and both are co-signers. As is Raul Grijalva of Arizona the Progressive Caucus leader.

Of late Alan Grayson, another progressive, has been associated with Ron Paul when the bill is discussed in the media.

I say there should be no problem getting the language back because hopefully we'll get a chance to either see the language returned or we'll see just whom of those 308 are willing to walk the talk.

I like the way Grayson has gone after the fed

and war profiteers as well.

And I'd like to see this bill with a full set of teeth be passed and implemented.

But with people like Geithner and Bernanke calling the shots on behalf of big finance, I hold out little hope that it will be done, especially when so much of the public seems predisposed to buy the green shoots meme.

I couldn't help but notice on my homepage that Geithner made the rounds to reassure everyone that the economy is rebounding.

Blow Tim blow. Cause your gas bag has holes in it left behind by twenty years of similar artists and these bubbles don't inflate as easily as they once did.

I agree it's a long shot at best

I suppose that the powers that be will see to it that it really goes nowhere as you imagine.

What I believe we are seeing here are the two strains of populism, roughly progressive and authoritarian, coming together on this proposal. Usually in a populist challenge to the existing order, one strain or the other wins out and usually with disastrous results.
