I'm going to be up for a while tonight I think, The sound and picture is smooth and clear and so good. A few of us in St. Maarten are going to try to live blog the event, sort of.

Anyone here watching and care to join us please do, or perhaps do it here too? I think I'll go get some sleep during the Japan and China ones though.

Al Gore is up just now on the Washington stage. Any Agonist out there watching any shows?

Al Gore has lost serious weight! Donna Brazille (?) has said to watch his weight. If he loses 30 lbs., he will run for President. I say he has lost more than thirty.

The show in Australia is being repeated, Missy Higgins is playing now and after the Butler Trio, I watched them early this morning, really really good.

(I forgot to pay attention to his weight, 30 pounds you say? Run Al Run...)

Giants Stadium - To Appear: Smashing Pumkins, Dave Mathews Band, The Police, Kanye West, Kieth Urban, Ludacris and more.

Never heard of David Blunt, but enjoying watching him now in London.

MSN has a great setup. It is easy to see who is playing right now where and who is coming up. Gore is going to be speaking on the DC video channel shortly.

I love all the ideas behind Live Earth, but the bands playing are terrible. I don't know the whole list, but it's like Kanye West, and... err... yeah.

More importantly, Jack Johnson is terrible. He's like Ambien for surfers and middle aged women who voted for Kerry and have kids in the Peace Corps. If you like acoustic guitar stuff try the John Butler Trio.

I liked the John Butler Trio, but I also liked Johnson. Watching UB40 now in South Africa....

Jack Johnson's Poor Taylor and the Holes To Heaven are good, I grant you that, but the big singles are snoozefests. UB40?! I thought they were relegated to cruise ships! I hope that when they die Bob Marley and every other Reggae god gets to be the deliverer of pain a la Dante's 8th circle!

who had a great deal of meaningful things to say. "What happened to us?!" indeed. Nice job - great set, great preaching.

I watched a lot, mostly on Bravo, which hopped around a lot and revisited earlier performances as the day wore on (I think that was part of NBC's strategy). My favorites from a purely musical standpoint were the Chili Peppers, David Gray, John Mayer, Garth Brooks and Dave Matthews. The ones that brought the mute button or a channel change were Fergie, Madonna, and Charo Shakira.

Turn back to the Constitution - and
READ it.

what the hell. I spent ALL day yesterday watching the event.

All the music is up at Live Earth website. Somebody has hacked it to load a Peak Oil web page. Hilarious.
