Payment To CA
I'm seriously reconsidering letting that CA take my money on the 31st of this month. They plan on using check by phone for $582 plus $4.50 for handling fee. How can I get my bank to stop this check from being cashed? Moving my money to my savings is an option but I would rather have it as a cancelled ck rather than bounced check. I will call them today and verify the amount with them and then call my bank to try to stop it. I'm worried they will try to put it through for a different amount to get my money. I gave them an actual check # so it seems if I stop that specific Ch # I should be safe. What do you think?

Call the bank and ask it what you need to do to stop this from coming through. I work for a large bank. And just from experience, they can attempt to put it through in a lot off different ways. Firts they may attempt to put the two ammounts together and present them as 1 item as the check number or one item as an ACH debit. The other way they may attempt it is keeping them seperate as two different checks for the different amounts or the same way via an ACH debit. So you may want to look at doing 4 different stop payments for added security and check the accounts daily to view what has posted the previous day.
