Why Do They Keep Tempting Me?
I filed for bankruptsy 3 years ago, yet I keep receiving solicitations from major credit card companies for cards at least twice a week. Every so often, I think, maybe it's ok now to get a card, but upon calling, and going thru the "phone application", we always get to that dreaded "have you declared bankruptsy in the past 7 years", and that pretty much is the red stamp of rejection. How do I get them to stop mass mailing me? Or can I sue their asses, because these credit card bastards put me here to begin with?
Answer:
I thought that the many of those solicitations are pre-screened, meaning that they know about the BK. Of couse those cards will have lower limits and higher interest rates. Try Capital One. They seem to be more BK-friendly. can you explain what you mean by that, have you recieved a card from them after your discharge? and if so. what about if they were included in your BK discharge? I am in the middle of my 341 and discharge dates. I have so far received mail for either a credit card, bank loan or auto loan from about 8 different companies. My attorney said just rip it up and throw it into the trash. He said dont start doing things with companies until the discharge has been decided and if I do he wants to review it. He also handles financial situations other than bankruptcy. So for the most part these mailings maybe just solicitations because you are on a mailing list.
