i filled chpt 7 and had my 341 meeting and everything went fine. i have not got my discharge yet. my mother has sold her house and the title company need some kind of order. i am a only child and i will not receive any money from the sale. my name was on the deed as a survivor. i did not include this in chpt7. my attorney is out of town and they want to close on the house thursday. has this happened to anyone else? what kind of order do they want.
Answer:
I can't say what kind of order is wanted. If you don't have a current interest in the property, they shouldn't need any order. If, however, your mother had a life estate with you holding the remainder, you do own a current interest, and the property can't be sold without approval of the bankruptcy court. This is one where you need your lawyer to get involved.
