To File From Can In US?
I worked in US for about 2 years. Then the economy took a bad turn and I got into financial problems. I am not a US citizen ( I'm canadian ) but my 30 000usd debt is on us credit cards. I talked to a canadian bkrptcy lawyer and since my debt is us she advised me to file in US. Is it possible to do that?
Answer:
Yes, it is possible. I have filed bankruptcy for a number of non-US citizens under the circumstances you describe. If you would be interested in discussing this further I dealt with an attorney in the area where I lived. She had no problems with doing it via long-distance. Everyhting was handled through mail, and I answered interrogatories so I would not have to attend the eharing.
