The Time It Takes To 341
I filed in the first week of January, the paperwork from the courts was dated Jan. 13th. My 341 is on March 31st. Having read and done as much research as possible for the chapter 7 it states the 341 will occur within 60 days of the filing date. I called my attorney to find out if this is ok because it is past the 60 days. He stated if you only knew how many bankruptcy's were filed your lucky with March 31st. Now this is in the western Pa. district, he stated that the courts seemed to be overwelmed with the amount and it hit right in the beginning of January. I was wondering if there is alot more bankruptcy's being filed or was this some flukey thing?
Answer:
The number of bankruptcies being filed is somewhat greater than last year. Locally, however, it is certainly possible that due to layoffs, the number could be significantly higher.
