About To Do This... What Do You Think

Question:
Hi I was wondering.. my wife and I are in a ton of debt (obviously) we both got married very young @22, and loaded up on credit card debt about $12,000 the creditors refuse to work with me and are throwing lawers at me. I tried the consumer credit counceling, but it didn't work (my creditors, did not accept it, they rejected it) anyway, I am still in school, and can't find a job because there is nothing around here, my wife works at McDonalds, her monthly income at this job is about $450. I get a pension check from my dad's work, after he passed away that totals $1377.87 combined they barely pay our rent, bills, and food. is bankrupcy an option for us? do I have to worry about my creditors rejecting me. (I heard when you file, you have to have a meeting with creditors, where they aprove or deny) what do you folks think? thanks for all input.

Answer:
In a Chapter 7, creditors do *not* determine whether your bankruptcy is "accepted"; that is up to the trustee and, ultimately, the court. In fact, in the vast majority of consumer Chapter 7 cases, not a single creditor appears at the Meeting of Creditors (which typically lasts between 3-5 minutes).
