Whould This Be A Problem?
I'm thinking of filing ch. 7 BK soon. I was wondering would it be a problem if I use or save my money for food, rent, school, filing fee, and lawyer's fee? I do make some money doing some independent contractor work, but most of the time, just made enough for food and rent. I haven't pay my creditor for over a year now, and haven't use my credit card for the same amount of time too. Also, I'm little behind on my taxes. Would any of those be a problem for filing?
Answer:
I have written a Bankruptcy FAQ which should answer many of your questions about what is involved--it may be found at http://users.erols.com/lawyer/FAQ/br_faq.htm. I strongly recommend speaking with a local bankruptcy attorney before you do anything. Most offer free initial consultations and he or she should be able to review your specific situation and let you know what you can and can't do. If you're in Maryland, DC or Virginia, please let me know--we may be able to help. Take care.
