Wrap Around Wedding Band

Q: My band is the wrap around type that fits with the solitaire engagement ring. They need to be soldered together to fit correctly. My question is: Should I have them soldered together before the wedding and wear no ring until the ceremony?

A:I've seen people do it either way, and I think that whatever you do will be fine. Just keep in mind that if you have it soldered days or weeks before, then you probably shouldn't wear the engagement ring pre-wedding. :) Yes, if you don't want to take off your wedding ring after the ceremony for sentimental or symbolic reasons, but only IF: 1. they will do it while you wait/watch, or 2. you trust your jeweler explicitly. There have been WAY too many horror stories both here and other places about diamonds being taken to the jeweler for various reasons and the HC coming back and receiving what they SWEAR isn't their original diamond. I suspect with a wrap-around ring added to your original engagement ring, it will look even less like "your" ring that you remembered. Proceed with caution! I had the same thing and I held off until after the wedding....sometimes it takes a while for them to get to it and even if they have time its still nice to be able to wear your engagement ring....When I went without it it made me feel naked hehe...Just one of those things I guess....but either way it is up to you....Maybe you can borrow something from your mom maybe her old engagement ring because most people have a separate one
