White Gold Pearl Ring, Diamond Ring In Madison? (ndc)

Q: I am finally giving in to the cartel and getting my wife a diamond ring. Any suggestions in the Madison WI area?

A: I would love to have my husband give me a DP (even though I own all of them) and tell me this story! Does she definitely want a diamond? I'd rather have a semi precious stone in platinum than a diamond. I could never look down at it without thinking about how much blood was shed to get it to me. Been married 10 years this year and I never got one nor do I need/want one. As I recall, Madison has several shops with vintage jewelry. Is that a no go as well? We talked about vintage, she did not have a problem with that. But the second shop we went into, just a few doors down from Sunshine Daydream, had one that caught her eye. She put it on, it fit perfectly. End of story. When we got married, she knew of my reluctance to deal with the evil cartel, so she accepted a pearl ring as a symbol of betrothal. But as time went on she got a hankering that just wouldn't go away. Much as I am against diamonds, a happy wife is more important to me. That was her wish and I took it as my command. On the whole, she is so compassionate, giving and nurturing that I can forgive her this small vanity. .10 ct is hardly a blip, anyway I wanted to by my wife a nice diamond when we got engaged. I thought she deserved one when we got engaged. I was only 19, I couldn't really afford it, but I sold my collection of Benjamin Franklin silver dollars and got her a modest diamond. But she flat-out refuses to wear diamonds, or any expensive jewelry. To this day, she is appalled by ostentatious displays of consumption (her words.) So of course, we bought what she wanted. The diamond was returned, and her engagement ring is a purple amethyst. I'm pretty sure you could get a similar ring in any K-Mart for less than a TV set. She really likes her gold/white gold/platinum wedding ring, though. But I think that's because she has no idea how expensive it was. I will never tell.
