Thumb Rings

Q: Does anyone else agree with me when I say that thumb rings on women are simply the most sexy thing in the world ever? I think they are truly gorgeous!

A: when i see a woman (or a man) wearing a thumb ring , it tells me , in the best cases , she/he is too young to know better , or stuck in the 90s , and has refused to evolve since then , or at worst , a druggie . in my opinon , of course... jees, could ya be just a bit MORE presumptuous & judgemental? I wear a thumb ring...it was my dad's wedding ring and it is just a plain jane gold band. It has great sentimental value to me since my dad committed suicide when I was only 4 years old. This was given to me when I was in my early 20's and I have worn it on my thumb ever since. It helps me feel connected to a man who I never got a chance to really know. But thanks ever so much for your opinion. Actually, thanks for the idea! My father remarried a few years after my mother died and obviously, he is now wearing a new wedding ring. He asked me if I'd like to have the one my mother gave him and I said yes, although I'm not exactly sure what I would do with it and it's sitting in a safety deposit box along with the rather large collection of precious jewelry that belonged to my mother and that I wouldn't wear unless there were a special event. I tend to stick with a few simple pieces most days and using my father's wedding ring as a thumb ring is both simple (it's a plain gold band also) and casual for everyday wear. This is another example of why we should not make generalizations about people based upon their fashion choices. Everyone should be able to wear whatever fashion or form of self expression that they enjoy without suffering judgement! The next time that you encounter someone and immediately come to a conclusion regarding that person's moral values or sexual orientation based upon their fashion or self expression choices, take the time to get that person before passing judgement. You may actually obtain a new friend. Also, please try to respect diversity. If it was not for diversity, the world would be a very dull place. It is much more difficult to create your own forms of fashion and self expression than just presenting a conservative "what is acceptable" type of look. Don't judge someone because they are different from you! It is very simple to conform. It requires courage to be different.
