Favorite Style Of Engagement Ring?

Q: Whats your favorite style of engagement ring?

A:does anyone know of somewhere we can get a claddagh ring with a stone in the heart?? My fiance is desperate to by one like this ofr my engagment ring but we cant find one anywhere!!!!!! At this rate Ill be wearing my wedding ring before the engagement ring lol, My favorite is a princess cut solitaire in a yellow gold setting, suitably large enough to make a wonderful sparkle on the hand! :) Just like mine---wedding ring is a diamond wrap with 3 diamonds on each side in desecending sizes---I always get rave comments about it! (Not to mention that I find it just perfect!) :) My enagement ring is a large (I'll leave out carat specifications in the interest of Melissa and others who were properly raised not to discuss such things in public) emerald-cut diamond with emerald-cut emeralds on either side, set in yellow gold. The ratio in size between the center stone and the side stones is 3:1, if that helps visualize the ring. IMO, it's absolutely perfect and I wouldn't have designed a single thing differently about it, except possibly making it a little smaller in overall stones. I'll just wear a plain gold band with it. got me a ring that is really me. It's in no way gaudy or flashy. It would have been the ring I would have picked out for myself. It's white gold because I prefer it over yellow. It has a modest diamond, I could care less about a diamond size and really asked that if we ever got engaged that he buy me a ring that wouldn't weigh my finger down, so to speak. I don't know much about rings but it's a bit antique in design. The setting that the stone is over is a square etched area with the stone rised a bit. It's a circle cut diamond but in a square setting. As for the original question... I never had a favorite style. I always preferred jewelry that is "me". He knows me very well and made an excellent choice. Now to find a wedding band that compliments us both, phew! I forgot to answer the original question - my ring is very simple. A ceylonese sapphire (they're the lighter blue ones, but mine is slightly darker than most ceylonese but lighter than the others) round cut, set in a simple gold ring with a rub-over setting. It's the style I wanted. We went shopping together. He actually proposed several times to me and I wouldn't say yes or no, then one day he was being particularly wonderful and I proposed back. Not very romantic but we got there in the end. And he bought me a ring. I wanted to go shopping since I'd made up my mind a while ago that I dislike diamonds[1] and I wanted the fun of hunting for an engagement ring without diamonds. It was impressive the number of shop assistants who tried to persuade me to have one. BTW, the original design of the ring was a very small diamond set inside a band of white gold to make the diamond look bigger. We had them take out the white gold and the diamond and put in a sapphire. They had to courier some stones down from Auckland for us to pick one - I chose the most expensive[2] - there was all the labour, and still the ring dropped in price by a fifth! Persoanlly I didn't like the look of any of the cluster rings or any rings with more than one diamond on them in general....I don't know why....I'm just a very simple person I guess. My ring is very simple....a solitair heart cut diamond in a yellow gold band....very simple but perfect....for me anyways
