Baby Shower

The prelude to the actual arrival of the little bundle of joy is the traditional baby shower. This a is where all the babies relatives and friends of the family gather in celebration to bring gifts for the new baby And enjoy each others company for a few short hours. The baby shower itself is usually held on a Saturday or Sunday and may last anywhere from a couple of hours to whenever the last guest decides to leave. A baby shower doesn't have to be a traditional one with all the hoopla; it may be merely the mother and a guest or two. The shower can take place anywhere, for instance at home, a restaurant, and hall or anywhere you may choose to accommodate your guests. With the traditional type of shower the person giving the gala will send out invitations a couple of weeks in advance with information attached. The information will include the time and date and directions to the meeting place. It is customary to bring your gifts on arrival. There is usually a table set for this purpose only. If you are required to bring a food item this is also brought at this time and set in its special place. The host will then instruct you from that point on. There are usually a number of helpers at the event to guide you. So the fun begins and you only need to relax and have fun. The host is also required to provide some entertainment for the guest and this is in the form games such as baby bingo or remembers what mother is wearing. The babies mother walks through the room and then leaves. Provided with pencils and papers the guests must then remember what she was wearing and then write it down. The person remembering the most items wins a prize and the games continue. After the food is eaten the gifts are opened the host will write down which guest brought which item, and later mother will send a thank you note.
