Retirement can give you all the extra time you need to start new hobbies or work around the house or even travel. It is the ultimate dream for someone to be able to stop working and devote time to himself or herself. Unfortunately, there is another reality that creeps into this dream once retirement is within grasp. Retirement can bring all these things, but it is a jarring event that can sometimes lead to depression and boredom. Retirement is a milestone, but sometimes it can be too much of a change for people. Work is familiar and people fall into a pattern; a rhythm of day-to-day activity. Retirement changes all that and throws the schedule completely off. Retirement means now the day will have to be filled with activity that you create on your own. There's a chance retirement can make you feel out of the loop.
